A fat quarter is a quarter yard of fabric cut "fat." A traditional 1/4 yard of fabric is 9" by 44". A fat quarter, or FQ as it's often shortened to, is 18" x 22". They are perfect for quilting and smaller projects such as bags, masks, and accessories.
